Workshop: montreal – digital and resilient
On April 17, 2015, TechnoMontréal hosted close to a hundred people at WORKSHOP: MONTREAL – DIGITAL AND RESILIENT. The event was a joint initiative of TechnoMontréal and the Centre de sécurité civile de la Ville de Montréal, in collaboration with the Association de sécurité civile du Québec and the Réseau d’Échange en Continuité des Opérations du Québec (RÉCO-Québec).
The workshop’s three goals were as follows:
- To encourage fruitful collaborations between public decision-makers and contractors, and ICT entrepreneurs, organizations and specialists who have an available expertise to showcase
- To contribute to solving the challenges of resilience and adaptation when it comes to natural or unexpected hazards and events that could occur on the island and in the region of Montreal
- To better understand the capacity of ICT to develop solutions adapted to financial realities and diverse needs
As part of this event, Anie Samson (Mayor of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc Extension and Vice President of the City of Montreal’s Executive Committee, Responsible for Public Security and Citizen Services) gave a presentation on Montreal and its place among the Rockefeller Foundation’s “100 Resilient Cities.”
The event was the second in a series of five workshops themed on the intelligent city that TechnoMontréal held between fall 2014 and fall 2015.
A final report detailing the executive summary, as well as the recommendations that emerged from this workshop will be available soon.
